Description of META MATE "23" Fresh Leafy Mate 500g (vacuum packed)
This yerba mate comes from the Atlantic rainforest in Brazil, where it is grown and harvested in the wild. It has a very fresh taste and a strong but very pleasant aroma. Meta Mate 23 is characterized by its coarsely chopped leaves, making it ideal for preparation as a tereré (cold mate tea with fresh fruit juices and ice). Of course, it can also be prepared quite simply with a mate cup and warm water or in a French press or teapot.
As it is not stored before packaging, this mate tea contains many antioxidants and theobromine, which have a stimulating effect on the nervous system.
Background information:
Meta Mate 23 was developed after a year of intensive research together with Beuthe University in Berlin, where various mates were analyzed for their chemical composition and subjected to sensory tests. It combines the Brazilian Erva Mate freshness with the Argentinean Yerba Mate, the easy-to-use coarser cut.
With this bottling, Barao supports Meta Mate's efforts to recognize the value of traditional, small-scale production. This added value brings sustainability and a better ecological footprint in rural areas.

Fill ¾ of the mate cup with yerba mate.
Cover the opening, turn it upside down and shake it gently.
Tilt the yerba to one side at about a 45° angle.
Pour a small amount of warm water (40°C) into the emptier area.
Wait 20–40 seconds for the yerba to absorb the water.
Insert the bombilla while covering its tip.
Add hot water (80°C) without filling the mate completely and always pour in the same spot.
