The yerba mate Kraus has been produced since the beginning of 20th century following the family tradition, working the field under the principles and requirements of a sustainable agriculture. Always looking for the preservation and fertility of the field in long terms.
The plantations from yerba organic Kraus are located in Colonia Santo Domingo Savio, San Ignacio, which belongs to the province Misiones. It is near to San Ignacio Miní, one of the 30 most important villages in which the Jesuits founded their missions.
It is a yerba mate with stems. It has been produced following a unique drying process which consists of the indirect warming through the heat produced by a boiler. This way a smoke-free tea is obtained, with a really smooth taste and a nice aroma.
The yerba mate Kraus is a 100% organically grown product, without any pesticides, fungicides nor herbicides.

Instructions for use Preparation in the French Press / Teapot: for 1 litre you take approx. 12g yerba mate and let it brew at 80 degrees for approx. 5 minutes. Preparation in a mate cup: detailed instructions can be found here: Yerba Mate Preparation

Heat the water to 80°C, making sure it does not boil.
Fill ¾ of the mate cup with yerba mate.
Cover the opening, turn it upside down and shake it gently.
Tilt the yerba to one side at about a 45° angle.
Pour a small amount of warm water (40°C) into the emptier area.
Wait 20–40 seconds for the yerba to absorb the water.
Insert the bombilla while covering its tip.
Add hot water (80°C) without filling the mate completely and always pour in the same spot.
