The size as well as the decoration of the ring are different because they are unique pieces.

While using the mate-cup a discolouration of the pumkin takes place. This is a natural process which occurs through the absorption of the tea.

Before the first use of the cup it should be "cured" in order to ensure a longer life.
Please make sure not to pour water up to the top edge when filling the Calabaza, as the metal ring is only placed on and not waterproof. Otherwise, this could lead to damage to the cup.

Any light scratches on the metal ring can be removed with a cloth and polishing paste (for cutlery).
Although alpaca is hard-wearing, it can tarnish on contact with oxygen and moisture. This reaction occurs when a patina forms on the surface. To prevent this, the alpaca edge should be polished regularly with a soft cloth. Gentle cleaning with soapy water helps to remove residues. If the material does tarnish, you can use special metal cleaners that are suitable for alpaca. Always dry the cup thoroughly after cleaning to avoid the formation of stains.
